I wanted to let you know that I will be a judge again this year for the fourth annual “Born Free USA fffashion Competition” (fur free fashion!). Entries are being accepted now through April 15, 2012 at www.bornfreeusa.org/fffashion. I was honored to be asked to be involved again in this worthwhile campaign.

Independent designers are invited to enter their fur free fashions for a chance to win cash prizes, boost their fashion careers, and help promote the ethical and environmental benefits of foregoing fur fashion. This is an extraordinary opportunity for emerging fashion designers to showcase their talent and contribute to a worthy cause.

The other judges I have the honor of participating with this year include Marina Draghici, an award-winning Broadway, film and television costume designer and celebrity fashion stylist; Elizabeth Emanuel, the couture legend and international designer perhaps most famous for creating Princess Diana's wedding dress; Victoria Principal ageless beauty expert/author, and of course best known for her role on Dallas; Melissa Rivers, a red carpet icon and television host; and Summer Rayne Oakes, eco-model, activist and green living expert.

Born Free USA is a national animal advocacy nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, with the mission to end the suffering of wild animals in captivity, rescue individual animals in need, protect wildlife — including highly endangered species — in their natural habitats, and encourage compassionate conservation globally. Every year, millions of animals suffer in fur farms and circus cages. In their campaigns against such cruelties, Born Free USA uses powerful tools including legislation, public education, litigation, and grassroots networking, and works actively with media to spread the word about challenges facing animals. Their primary campaign areas include animals used in entertainment, captive exotic animals, trapping and fur, and the international wildlife trade.
